So Lake Park was the first marching band contest of the year, and we did wayy better than we normally do.
Well.. prelims weren't that great. So when they were announcing who made finals, almost no one was paying attention, but I was because that would be who we were going to watch for the rest of the night. (No one was paying attention, because we thought we performed pretty badly.) And then I hear "And from Lemont, IL the Lemont High School Marching Band!" and i freaked out. Lol, I thought they were joking at first. But it was for real! This was the first time in 3 years that we made it again! It was really exciting.
So our director took us back by our buses, and told us some of the scores, and when we would be going on in finals. In one of the categories of scoring, we had the highest score, it was amazing. We made 9th place out of 18 (I think), only the top 10 make it to finals so we were pretty close to not making it. But we still made out goal for that contest. We found out that we were going to go on 4th in finals, so we had to hurry up and eat our subway that we ordered. And normally, we can't eat ANYTHING in uniform, but only drink water. But in this case, we didn't have time to undress, eat, and then re-dress. So they told us to take out jackets off, and only eat in our pants. So we ate, and then put out jackets, gauntlets, and gloves back on so we could go to the warm-up area.
We warmed up, and were about to go on the field. I was so excited, I couldn't wait to perform our show again.
The show is over, and it was wayyy better than the prelims show. Everyone felt soo good about it.
We put everything away, and went back to the stands to watch more bands, and listen for the awards. And the drum majors started to march out, and the crowd on our side of the field (I had to sit in the back because I was with the band, and we didn't pay to get in. So all of the bands sit back there, and the crowd was insane, lol.) Then all of a sudden I hear "Lemont" on the loud speaker, and was confused.. But soon realized that we had won an award. But I had no clue which one, because I couldn't hear anything because the crowd was going insane. (It was mostly my band. And all the other bands around us were telling us to shut up, lol. But I had to inform them that we actually won an award.) It turns out, we got 10th place. Last place, but still something to cheer for because we did REALLY good.
After all the awards were passed out, we went home and unloaded everything from the trucks and trailers at about 11:30. And didn't get home until about midnight.
But it was all really fun. I can't wait til this weekend for the next contest.

So I'm like, really bored in spanish right now, and I'm supposed to be playing a game on the computer.. But oh well, I'm bored, so I'm gonna ramble here until I have to go.
So hangman is boring, and this fan is loud, and I'm extremely bored!
So I guess I'll just go now, because I have to go in a few minutes.. I'll ttyl everyone!
